This is a NEW HQ video-codec, which brings stunning video quality, but,
it will probably not be able to be played back on your 'old' Smart-TV, external media-player or BluRay-Player.

As of the moment of this text being written,

THERE ARE NO HARDWARE PLAYERS AVAILABLE THAT SUPPORTS THIS CODEC,

though it plays fine with using various players such as VLC (which support x265 HEVC) and also on various Android-devices.
So, don't bother hooking up your outdated WD-MediaPlayer, etc. It will most likely NOT support the x265-codec.

If you want to play it on your PC, you can easily use VLC, MPC-HC, GOM Player or any other modern media player. just be sure you got the latest version of them.
If you have no video and only the audio is playing, try to update your player or use another one. Installing LAV Filters may help. Google is your best friend.

This new technique is not something you can compare with x264 releases.
Don't let the filesize fool or scare you.
Small sized files in this format, doesn't mean LOW QUALITIES.
