Synopis:

Sinopse Pt Br:

Durante a Guerra da Coréia, Ruth McGara (June Allyson), uma enfermeira do exército, vai para uma unidade móvel hospitalar. Lá ela conhece o major Jed Webbe (Humphrey Bogart), um dos cirurgiões da unidade. Webbe se mostra interessado nela, mas em princípio parece só querer envolvimentos rápidos. Ruth se apaixona por ele, que também se mostra muito envolvido com ela. O romance deles floresce entre vítimas, ameaças do inimigo e do tempo e evacuações de emergência, mas tudo isto Ruth consegue suportar bem. O que na verdade a incomoda é que Jed parece não ter passado e não quer falar dele. Isto a deixa insegura, pois pode estar envolvida com alguém casado e ela não quer ter este tipo de relação.
