Nicolas Jaar --now 20 years old--was born in New York. Soon after his birth, he moved to Santiago de Chile, where he bathed in Latin influences and indigeneous musical traditions that hold a determinant place in his productions. Nicolas will eventually come back to his birthplace as a teenager. Haunted by Mulatu Astatke, Erik Satie, Ezekiel Honig and Villalobos’ “Thé au Harem d’Archimède”; Nicolas started to make organic electronic music in 2004 at the young age of 14. Last year he debuted with “The Student EP” on Wolf and Lamb Music with remixes by Seth Troxler and Kasper.He is now studying music cognition and philosophy at Brown University in Rhode Island.
