"The Last Journey Home" is the fifth track and second single from DragonForce's fourth studio album, Ultra Beatdown. As with all the other singles, the song has been edited for the music video to a running time of around 5 minutes.

The music video for this song premiered on the Xbox Live Network on 21 January 2009. The video shows the band leaving what seems to be an airport to go to a concert. Their instruments is accosted by a group of thugs, but they manage to get them back. At the chorus, the band starts to perform on stage, until the song ends.

DragonForce is an English Grammy-nominated power metal band formed in 1999 in London. They are known for fast guitar solos, fantasy-based lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game influenced sound.

DragonForce's musical style includes:

The band has often been labelled speed metal due to the fast tempos present in their songs, but always as a supplement to other types of metal descriptors.
