"There Goes My Life" is the name of a song by country music singer Kenny Chesney. It is the first single released from his 2004 album When the Sun Goes Down. The song spent seven consecutive weeks at number one in late December 2003 and January 2004.

The song debuted at #46 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart dated October 25, 2003. The song spent twenty weeks on that chart, and climbed to number one on the chart dated December 20, 2003, where it stayed at the top spot for seven consecutive weeks. It also peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100.

When the Sun Goes Down is the ninth album by country music singer Kenny Chesney, released on February 3, 2004. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 550,000 copies in its first week.

The tracks "There Goes My Life", "When the Sun Goes Down", "I Go Back", "The Woman with You", "Anything but Mine", and "Keg in the Closet" were all released as singles between 2004 and 2005. Respectively, they peaked at #1, #1, #2, #2, #1, and #6 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. The title track, a duet with Uncle Kracker, is also Uncle Kracker's only country chart entry.

Also included on this album is the song "Some People Change", which would later be recorded (and released as a single) by Montgomery Gentry as the title track to their 2006 album Some People Change. Montgomery gentry's version was a Top Ten hit for them that year.
