Plot:
Chaukat Raja IS The story of Nandu, a mentally retarded boy. Nandu, who is disabled due to a childhood accident while playing with his childhood friend, Munni. The two friends meet again after a gap of 25 years when the girl is married and well-settled, while the boy and his mother live a meagre existence. The plot explores the relationships of the boy with his childhood friend, her husband, their daughter, and how he copes with these realities of the present to the best of his limited abilities.

Synopsis:
This is easily one of the best Marathi movies of all times. Its a story of a mentally challenged individual (played by Dilip Prabhavalkar) and his journey through life. Dilip Prabhavalkar plays the role to perfection and really makes you fall in love with the character. He is by far one of the finest thespians on the Marathi stage today. He received the Maharashtra State award for best actor for his portrayal of a disabled boy in this movie.
