º Perkele is by now one of the longest-running and most productive streetpunk º
º bands of Europe. Since 1993, the band released no less than 8 studio albums º
º and with “Perkele forever”, the band releases another 10 new tracks on the º
º masses. º
º º
º Perkele forever” starts off with “Punkrock army”, a straightforward º
º anthemic streetpunk song that reminds me a bit of Oxymoron. Follow-up \"Me\" º
º is more laid back and can almost be called a ballad. And this diversity º
º basically continues all along the album. The ten songs on Perkele forever º
º include some unusual instruments like mandolin, violin and claviature, is º
º packed with sing-a-long choruses but also contains some introvert tunes. º
º This album is way less aggressive or in your face than any of the early º
º stuff on this band as there is hardly any electric guitar in the front of º
º the mix, and for some people this one might be too soft or quiet. For me, I º
º really like the song-writing on this album, and every chorus is as catchy º
º as the previous one. This is exemplified by my personal favourites Waste of º
º time” and “Forever”. The album also shows that you don’t need raging º
º guitars and pounding riffs to make a streetpunk album that sticks in your º
º head for a long time. º
º If I have to name something negative about this record, its the extremely º
º simplistic booklet that accompanies the digipack. A completely black º
º background with text printed in white doesnt seem to be too inspired and º
º might have been enough during the early nineties to warrant high sale- º
º numbers. But with the development towards downloading music I would have º
º liked a bit more attention directed to the artwork. º

º Perkele forever shows that Perkele is still a band to be reckoned with, and º
º is a great addition to the band’s discography. And now I’m only counting º
º the days till I finally get to see this band play somewhere close-by. º
