Sanatorium pod klepsydra - The Hour-Glass Sanatorium torrent

Set in pre- World War II era. A young man is on a strange train to see his dying father in a sanatorium. But the place is going to ruin and recalls a lot of memories from the past. He is beset by soldiers from the past, colonial black mercenaries, girls from his early life, and his parents. It is an interior adventure, with unusual atmospheric flair and extraordinary sets.

The film depicts its protagonist, Joseph (Jan Nowicki), traveling through a dream-like world, taking a dilapidated train to visit his dying father in a sanatorium. When he arrives at the hospital, he finds the entire facility is going to ruin and no one seems to be in charge, or even caring for the patients. Time appears to behave in unpredictable ways, reanimating the past in an elaborate artificial caprice.

Józef (Jan Nowicki) odwiedza sanatorium doktora Gotarda (Gustaw Holoubek), w którym leczył się jego zmarły ojciec. W tym niezwykłym miejscu przenosi się w przeszłość, którą bezskutecznie próbuje przywrócić w realnym życiu. W surrealistycznej rzeczywistości jego ojciec żyje, a on ponownie jest małym chłopcem. Widzi żydowskie miasteczko, swój rodzinny dom, księżniczkę Biankę (Bożena Adamek), która odrzuciła jego miłość, odchodząc z przyjacielem Rudolfem. Film oparty na prozie Brunona Shultza, jest poetycką refleksją dotyczącą przemijania i sensu życia. Obraz otrzymał wiele prestiżowych nagród, m.in. nagrodę jury w Cannes w 1973 roku.
