Caprica Complete Blu-ray Rip 720p HEVC AAC Stereo EN torrent

My Blu-Ray rips are always taken DIRECTLY from the actual blu-rays, not re-encodings of an earlier h264 torrent, and not "filled in" with web downloads.

HEVC is a superb machine, but it should be given quality raw materials.

This is the complete first and only season of Caprica from 2010. This includes the extended and uncensored pilot episode (some nudity is present).

I have used the numbering system from IMDB which considers the pilot as a single episode (irrespective of how it may have been originally broadcast); there are 17 further episodes.

The series was only released on Blu-ray in a few territories, including France, and as part of a later BSG box set.

This torrent's contents are ripped from the French blu-ray, but using the English audio track and subtitles. The subtitles were converted from idx/sub images to SRT using SubtitleEdit, and then manually checked and corrected.


This is an h265 (HEVC) 8 bit 2 pass compact 720p rip.

I used x265 to create a VBR in 2 passes, at an average of 700kbps and peak of 1200kbps, using the "slower" preset.

For some of the episodes I had to increase the bandwidth - there is a lot of high movement dark fighting, which does use a lot of bandwidth.

The audio is AAC stereo 128kbps.

The English subtitles are included in the stream (not hardcoded) - it defaults to the forced English, used where characters speak Tauronese, but only in the pilot; the English translation of Tauranese is hardcoded into the images (not by me) for the remaining episodes.

I think x265 has done a good job, creating a very good reproduction of the original blu ray files, giving a total of 4.55Gb; a fraction of the original size.
