Synopis:

In the Pacific during World War 2, the officers live a comfortable life with good food, good drink and good quarters. To them, war is a game which they know they will win and the common soldiers are the pawns on the board. When the campaign slows down, the Commander sends a squad to the top of a mountain behind enemy lines to report on the Japanese troop movements. The squad is commanded by a tough cynical Sergeant who takes no prisoners and even takes the gold from the teeth of the enemy dead. Before the mission starts, the lieutenant, who has had a cushy job due to a life of wealth and privilege, criticizes the Commander over his attitude towards the common soldier and is re-assigned to lead the squad. The veteran Sergeant wants to complete this mission as ordered, and he will do everything he can do to see that it is successful.

Sinopse Pt Br:

No Pacífico durante a 2ª Guerra Mundial, os Soldados vivem uma vida confortável, com boa comida, boa bebida e bons quartos. Para eles, a guerra é um jogo que eles sabem que vão ganhar e os soldados comuns são os peões no tabuleiro. Quando a campanha fica mais lenta, o comandante envia uma equipe até o topo de uma montanha atrás das linhas inimigas para informar sobre o movimento das tropas japonesas. O pelotão é comandado por um sargento duro e cínico que não tem prisioneiros e até mesmo leva o ouro dos dentes dos inimigos mortos. Antes de iniciar a missão, o tenente, que tinha uma vida agradável, devido a uma vida de riqueza e privilégios, critica o comandante sobre a sua atitude para com o soldados comuns e é re-designado para liderar o pelotão. O veterano sargento quer completar esta missão como requisitado, e ele fará tudo o que ele puder para fazer a missão bem sucedida.
