Termed a “Doonesbury for Generation X”, the THATCH comic strip ran from 1991-1998, when the cartoonist quit to take a job as a political speech writer. For anyone who remembers the obnoxious proto-hippies from college who would protest anything they didn’t understand at the drop of a hat, this is for you. Not to be missed are the battles between superheroes “Politically Correct Person” and his arch-rival, “Insensitive Man.”

I’ve always loved this collection because the author rips on everyone who deserves it, from eco-nuts to the shallow rich. The memories for anyone in their 30s are well placed throughout the book, especially the ‘Magic of 8-track tapes’.
