Once again, I'm finding myself in a bit of trouble categorizing these two books (plus one short) mentally, to be honest. Crime definitely appears to take the central place. Second to that would have to be romance, quite heavily laced with sex whenever the occasion calls for it. And there is plenty of adventure. And comedy. And drama.

But none of those really describe the books as wholes, somehow.

The best I can come up with is "a pair of somewhat psychedelic coming-of-age stories with a rather quirky protagonist". In short, this is one of those occasions on which you should just download first and decide whether to keep the content once you've had a look for yourself. Me, I was completely hooked by page two, but as so often, YMMV!
