Transformers Regeneration One picks up directly after the original Marvel Comics series that ended with issue 80 back in 1991. The opening act chronicles all major G1 events further acknowledging it as a sequel. TPB v1 contains issues 80.5 - 85 collecting the story arc "Loose Ends" 1 - 5, and is written by the man who ended the series, Simon Furman.

Transformers Regeneration One Volume Two contains issues 86-90. Last volume Optimus Prime took a team of Autobots to Earth to battle Megatron leaving the inexperienced Hot Rod in command on Cybertron. During this time, Scorponok appears with intentions on taking over Cybertron by enslaving the Autobots and forcing the Decepticons under his command.

v3 - The very fabric of the TRANSFORMERS' universe begins to unravel, as huge and ancient cosmic forces take note of CYBERTRON's (and the CYBERTRONIANS') descent into chaos and anarchy.

v4 - Rodimus Prime struggles to comprehend what is happening as dark forces rise and an invasion begins the war to end all wars. Collects issues #96–100.
