France, 1654. Eloise is the daughter of the famed swordsman D'Artagnan. She also has a remarkable gift with a blade, but is devoted herself to her studies at a convent. When the Mother Superior is murdered for trying to defend an escaped slave from the clutches of evil Duke of Crassac and his muse the Lady in Red, the life of young Eloise takes a drastic turn. Being the worthy daughter of his father, Eloise suspects the murder is part of an ongoing scheme in order to overthrow the King and seize power. Determined to avenge the death of his adoptive mother, she sets out to call her father and his old compatriots to action to stop the Duke. But poor old D'Artagnan feels exhausted and sad and is altogether indifferent to any danger to the crown.
