The story of a decade...and Shylock are back with their new album called “RockBuster”. The first step into business was done back in 2000 when Shylock was featured on the German Rock Hard sampler “Unerhört” with the debut song “Can’t Let U Go”. Just a few months later they finally found a label partner and released their self-titled album.
The second release was called “Pyronized”, and the four-piece drew their attention to the audience due to the quality of songs and numerous tour and live activities with bands such as Bonfire, Axxis, Shakra, Roger Chapmann, U.D.O., Primal Fear, Doro, etc.

“Welcome To Illusion” is the title of their third album. Rami Ali, well known drummer of Frontline/ Evidence One and State Of Rock, contributed all drum tracks at the studio. This production was released in Europe, Russia and finally in Brasil. Besides the impressive sound, “Welcome To Illusion” turned out to be three times ‘album of the month’ in different online and print magazines.

Later, back in November 2004, Shylock released the song “Farewell” on MTM Music’s 10th anniversary sampler. This song was exclusively written for world known soccer star Thomas “Icke” Hässler. Thomas invited the band to perform his song at his farewell game at Cologne RheinEnergieStadion. About 20.000 people watched the gig live in the stadium and over 1.000.000 people even watched the event at TV. During the song-writing and pre-production session for “Devotion”, Shylock performed some more shows, e.g. at Bayern 3 radio’s Badetour with Right Said Fred, Adler’s Appetite (Ex Guns ’n’ Roses), and they supported Bonfire on their “Double X” tour in Germany and Spain.
Right after the release of “Devotion” the band started with the production for the fifth album called “RockBuster”. With Ondrej Hurbanic, they finally found a suitable producer to give the songs power and a quite modern sound. “Rockbuster” contains 11 powerful songs and a fabulous cover version of Timex Social Club’s world-wide known track “Rumours”.

Shylock - new album "RockBuster"
10.06.10: Schon 10 Jahre...... und kein bisschen leiser. Shylock warten mit ihrem neuen Album "RockBuster" auf (Release 26.02.10). Für den bayrischen Vierer ging's sein 2000 stetig bergauf. Denn damals begeisterte die Band bereits mit dem Debütsong "Can't Le U Go" auf dem Newcomer-Sampler "Unerhört". Mit "Pyronized", dem 2. Silberling, folgte der Aufstieg in die Liga des Hard-Rocks, was die Band durch ausgedehnte Tour- und Live-Shows u.a. mit Bonfire, Axxis, Shakra, Roger Chapman, U.D.O., Primal Fear, Doro.... unter Beweis stellen konnte. Auf ihr 3. Album "Welcome To Illusion" mit Schützenhilfe, von Frontline, Evidence One und Rami Ali eingespielt, folgte am 10.11.04 der Song "Farewell" auf dem Jubiläumssampler des Labels MTM Music. Dieses Stück wurde von Sänger Matthias Schenk exkl. für den weltweit bekannten Fussballspieler Thomas "Icke" Hässler geschrieben. Der Dank von Thomas war die Einladung mit Auftritt am 22.08.05 im Kölner RheinEnergieStadion bei einem Abschiedsspiel vor ca. 20'000 Fussballbegeisterten und rund 1 Mio Zuschauer am TV bei Live-Übertragung. Das 4. Album "Devotion" folgte und so liess auch "RockBuster" nicht lange auf sich warten.

Es ist da und wie, ein tolles Melodic-Rock Album das zwischendurch mal härtere Beats anschlägt. Ein Album, das Geschichten erzählt von lieben und schlechten Menschen, von einem falschen Planeten, Stärke, Liebe.... aus dem wahren Leben halt. "Sunshine vs. Rain" ist ein beeindruckender und schöner Liebessong, Liebeserklärung kann man sagen, die erste Ballade des Albums. Die 2. Ballade "Strong" handelt von einer Liebe die stark macht. Der für mich beeindruckendste Song ist Nummer 12 auf dem Album mit hammer Gitarrenriffs von Hannes Löhr, straiten Beats, starkem Gesang begleitet von Backvox, ein Song der stark abgeht: "Wrong Planet". Das Album gefällt sehr gut und ist ein Stück echtes Shylock! Von uns gibt's dafür 7.5 Punkte, congratz!

"RockBuster" ist sehr empfehlenswert - Kauftipp! Wer noch abwarten möchte, kann eines an unserem nächsten BV-Wettbewerb vor Ende Juni 2010 gewinnen.
